Freezer Frenzy in Brief
Fill a large pasta pot with strainer or large pot with typical metal strainer with water. Bring to a boil.
Fill a large bowl with ice and water.
Green beans: Prepare the bean as you would to cook them for a meal, washing throughly, snapping off ends, cutting to desired length. Pour into pot. Allow to cook for three minutes. Lift up strainer, pour beans into ice water. Leave in water for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Spread out on sheet tray. Place sheet tray in freezer. When beans are frozen, transfer to freezer bags. Reheats as you would any other frozen veg.
Corn on the cob: Shuck and rinse corn. Boil for 9 minutes. Remove to ice bath. Allow to cool for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Lay out on sheet tray. Freeze. Transfer to freezer bags. Reheat as you would any other frozen veg - kernels can be slices off with serrated knife while still frozen!
