Week 4

I fell asleep. I had all these great plans for the romantic dinner I was going to cook my husband and the beautiful pictures I was going to take of it, using our fresh from the CSA pickup ingredients, and I fell asleep. So you, my dear reader, are stuck with Nomi's dinner.

The child had the gourmet fare of a Toasted Freihofer's 100% Whole Wheat with Peanut Butter with a side of Sugar Snap Peas with 1% milk in a Disney Princess Cup. She then had blueberries for dessert, all while being read her current favorite book, "Blueberries for Sal" by Robert McCloskey. Dina munched on blueberries as well, along with leftover scallion pancakes from lunch. When Dina started to get antsy, I brought her upstairs for a 7:30 bedtime and promptly fell asleep myself. My darling husband woke me up at 11:30 pm to get into bed. At that point, dinner was slightly out of the question.

So, I have bok choy waking up downstairs, and a head of broccoli, and am wavering between using up the chicken or tofu for lunch. This week, expect to see the use of Sugar Snap Peas, Beets and their Greens, Parsley, Sage, Lettuce, Cucumbers, Summer Squash and Zucchini. I shall plan on staying awake long enough to cook them.
